SNA tried to 'double his money' selling coke

Summary

Kenneth Lynch, 32, a special needs assistant, was found with over €4,000 of cocaine and €10,000 in cash in his home in Clondalkin. He pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine for sale or supply at his address on 23 August 2018. Gardaí had been surveilling him and obtained a search warrant. During the search, they discovered cocaine worth €4,816 and €10,400 in cash in a safe. Lynch admitted he had paid €1,500 for the cocaine and intended to sell it to "locals" to double his money, a scheme he had run for a year and a half. He claimed the cash came from people who owed him money and that he feared them after being threatened. Judge Pauline Codd described the activity as "a very nefarious trade" and ordered a report from the Probation Service, with the matter adjourned for finalisation on 6 May.
