Roofer stashed heroin in attic
Summary
Graham Lynch, 41, was jailed for two-and-a-half years after he stored almost €40,000 worth of heroin in the attic of his home to pay a drug debt. He told Gardaí he would receive a call when a certain person "needed stuff" and would then pass the drugs on. Lynch delivered small quantities locally and stored the rest until instructed. He admitted in a Garda interview that he was storing the drugs on behalf of others. At the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court he pleaded guilty to possession of heroin for sale or supply at his home on 20 August 2019. He had six prior convictions for minor road traffic offences. Judge Melanie Greally noted his limited offending history and that his urine analysis was negative for drugs. She sentenced him to four years imprisonment, suspending the final 18 months on strict conditions, including following all directions of the Probation Service for 12 months after release.
