Sister testifies that she never saw brother carry out abuse

Summary

At the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, the trial of two men accused of indecently assaulting their younger brothers up to 40 years ago continues. The eldest brother, now aged 55 and living in Co Meath, has pleaded not guilty to 35 sample counts of indecently assaulting his two younger brothers between 1979 and 1985. His brother, a 50-year-old Dublin man, has pleaded not guilty to 16 sample counts of indecently assaulting one of the complainants between 1985 and 1988. The sister of the accused testified that she never saw one of the accused sexually assault any of the boys. She stated that there was a dispute in the family over their late mother's will, which lasted for seven years and was a difficult time. Another witness testified that the complainant had approached her years ago, asking her to remember an alleged incident involving his brother. The trial continues before Judge James McCourt.
