Serial abuser Patrick Kelly further sentenced for sex assaults on teen girls
Summary
Patrick Kelly, 52, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment by Judge Melanie Greally at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for sexually assaulting two teenage girls while he was their Taekwon-Do instructor. The victims, now aged 20 and 23, waived anonymity and provided victim impact statements. Kelly had previously been convicted in December 2017 of sexual assault and exploitation of two children, receiving a nine‑year sentence, and in the Central Criminal Court a consecutive four‑year term for rape, sexual assault and exploitation of a girl he met at a bus stop. The new sentence follows Kelly's guilty pleas to three offences: forcefully kissing and grabbing the first victim's bottom in mid‑2014, and grabbing, kissing and touching the second victim's bottom between July 2011 and July 2012.
