Summary

In a Dublin court on 23 June 2020, Mario Snajder (32) and Miso Filjak (30) received suspended prison sentences for a drunken assault on a 20‑year‑old student on Harcourt Street in November 2018. Snajder punched the victim, Karl Canning, repeatedly, then kicked him twice after he fell. Filjak punched the victim once before he fell. Both men fled the scene. Canning suffered fractures, black eyes, loose teeth and nightmares, and his exam results were affected. The men pleaded guilty to assault causing harm.
