Ten-year sentence for man caught in possession of drugs while out on temporary release for same offence

Summary

Paul Mooney, 27, was returned to jail for ten years after being found with €27,900 of cannabis, cocaine and heroin in his home and car while on temporary release from a five‑year sentence for a previous drug offence. He pleaded guilty to possession of the drugs and to possession of €2,000 cash near his car. Judge Mary Ellen Ring sentenced him to ten years, back‑dated to 15 February 2013, and ordered a review in February 2019.
