Summary

In a Dublin Circuit Criminal Court hearing, Mamour Lowe Nicolas, 35, born and raised in Gambia, and his co‑accused Michail Angelopoulos, 27, and Kosmas Ompante, 31, all homeless, were found guilty of assault and robbery after a violent mugging that left a victim unconscious with a fractured skull. The trio followed the victim after a night out, stole his phone, wallet, prayer book and keys, and then attacked him. Nicolas kicked the victim eight times in the face, while Angelopoulos and Ompante also struck and dragged him to the ground. The victim suffered a skull fracture, a deep cut to the left front of his face and a cut on his ear. Judge Patricia Ryan imposed concurrent four‑year sentences on each defendant, back‑dated to May to account for time already spent in custody.
