Gardaí stopped a blue BMW after noticing an expired tax disk and, on detecting a cannabis odour, recovered four plastic bags of the drug from the boot along with two bags of yellow pills, valued at approximately €36,000. A subsequent search of his former residence yielded tablets worth a further €7,500. The court heard that Wyrebiak had agreed to transport drugs following an altercation with a "connected man" at a Dublin nightclub, presenting him with limited options to resolve the matter. Judge Martin Nolan imposed a four-year sentence, suspended in full, having regard to mitigating factors including Wyrebiak's full cooperation with gardaí, admissions, and absence of previous convictions.
