Mohamed Morei deemed fit to stand trial
Summary
A 19‑year‑old man named Mohamed Morei, who has been in custody at the Central Mental Hospital since early 2018, was found fit to plead by Mr Justice Alex Owens at the Central Criminal Court on 19 June 2019. The judge was informed by Sean Gillane SC, representing the Director of Public Prosecutions, that doctors had observed progress in Morei's mental condition and that he now understands the nature of the charge, the evidence and the pleading procedure.
