Dealers targeted "vulnerable" man after "formidable" mother's death

Summary

Ciaran Wolverson, 53, of Edenmore Crescent, Coolock, Dublin, was found to have allowed drug dealers to mix and bag hard drugs in his home after his mother's death. He received a threatening text warning that houses in the area were being smashed and his could be next. Wolverson admitted that a number of youths would come to his house, he would retreat to a back room while they handled the drugs, and that they would leave him a small piece of heroin for personal use. Gardaí, acting on confidential information, searched his home on 5 October 2017 and seized eight bags of cocaine in a Gucci bag and cocaine and heroin in a plastic freezer bag, valued at about €17,000 and €740 respectively. He pleaded guilty to permitting his home to be used for the sale or supply of controlled drugs.
