Woman in "love triangle" tells murder trial she was "cheating" on accused

Summary

During a murder trial, Claire McGrath admitted that her presence at the accused's home contributed to the death of Graham McKeever. She said she had invited McKeever to stay overnight and that McKeever had entered the kitchen where McGrath was arguing with Keith Connorton, who was intoxicated and holding a kitchen knife. McKeever allegedly shouted "She's mine now" and attacked Connorton, striking him with a heavy blow that knocked him onto a child's chair. McKeever then stabbed Connorton, after which Connorton fled the scene. McGrath expressed remorse, stating "It is my fault. If I had never brought him to my house he would be still alive. I'm so sorry." The trial is ongoing before Justice Tony Hunt and a jury. Keith Connorton pleaded not guilty.
