Man accused of murder in "love triangle" trial
Summary
A 40‑year‑old man, Keith Connorton, is on trial in the Central Criminal Court for the murder of Graham McKeever, a 29‑year‑old man, in a Dublin love triangle. Connorton was arraigned on 10 December 2018 and pleaded not guilty. The case, presented by Brendan Grehan SC, alleges that Connorton stabbed McKeever to death on 18 February 2017 at an apartment on Deerpark Avenue, Tallaght. The prosecution claims that McKeever was staying with Claire McGrath, Connorton's former partner, who had broken up with him about six months earlier. According to the prosecution, Connorton, armed with a kitchen knife, threatened McGrath and, when McKeever came to her aid, stabbed him in the chest. Connorton also claims he will argue self‑defence. The trial is scheduled to continue tomorrow before Mr Justice Tony Hunt.
