Aaron Brady, 27, from New Road, Crossmaglen, is accused of murdering Garda Adrian Donohoe during a shooting on 25 January 2013 at Lordship Credit Union, Bellurgan, Co. Louth. Brady was charged earlier this year with the murder of a Garda in the course of duty. Brendan Grehan SC, for the prosecution, estimates the trial will last six to eight weeks. Mr Justice Michael White set the trial to begin on 8 October 2019 at the Central Criminal Court, with Michael O'Higgins SC defending Brady. At a prior hearing, Donohoe was served a four‑volume book of evidence.
