Pair charged in connection with murder of "The Beast"

Two men, Colin Casey, 32, and Daniel Hegarty, 24, appeared before the Special Criminal Court on 8 October 2018 charged in connection with the murder of Aidan "The Beast" O'Driscoll, 37, who was shot on 7 December 2016 in Blackpool, Cork. Why: Detective Sergeant Niall O'Connor, of Watercourse Garda Station in Cork, told Ms Verbier that Mr Casey was brought before the court this morning under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, where he showed him a copy of the original charge sheet and explained to him the reason for his arrest.
