10 years for African national who infected two partners with HIV
Summary
An African national aged 28 was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm to two former partners by infecting them with HIV between November 2009 and June 2010. The victims, both women, testified that the man repeatedly told others they would not want to be with them because of their HIV status, that he pestered them, and that he followed and texted them, revealing their infection to anyone they spoke to.
