"Strange scene" when gardai found €44k in drugs after burglary report
Summary
Ryan Callaghan, 25, of Ballyfermot, pleaded guilty in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to possessing drugs for sale or supply at a rented property in Palmerstown on 31 July 2015. Text messages on one phone suggested drug dealing. Callaghan was questioned at his girlfriend's home and later allowed to retrieve some property, but nothing was found on him. The court noted a strong cannabis smell and that Callaghan's father had paid €10,000 to alleged debtors. Judge Karen O'Connor remanded Callaghan on continuing bail, adjourned sentencing to 8 October, and ordered an updated probation report.
