Fraudster couple used stolen card details to buy sex toys
Summary
A 42‑year‑old Pakistani man, Muhammed Kashif, and his 39‑year‑old Singaporean wife, Deepa Vaswani, were arrested in a Dublin hotel after Gardaí discovered an "Aladdin's cave" of stolen goods. Their laptop contained 200 pages of chat logs revealing the use of thousands of stolen credit‑card details. They used these cards to purchase €1,452 of toys from Smyths Toys, €161 of sex toys, and a six‑night stay at the Fitzwilliam Hotel costing €2,781. Flights from Dublin to New York (€3,592) and Dublin to Kuala Lumpur (€8,798) were also bought with stolen cards. Over 140 items were seized, including a €4,000 watch, six phones, new clothes, and €15,000 in foreign currencies. The couple pleaded guilty to handling stolen card information, fraudulently buying flights, obtaining hotel accommodation, theft from Smyths and Love Toy Shopper, and criminal damage to toy packaging. They remain remanded in custody, with no prior convictions.
