Phone records were sought in Hutch murder investigation

Summary

The Special Criminal Court has heard evidence regarding the provenance of mobile phone records in the ongoing trial of Thomas Fox, Regina Keogh, and Jonathan Keogh, who are accused of murdering Gareth Hutch. All three defendants have pleaded not guilty to the murder charge; Mr Fox has additionally denied unlawfully possessing a Makarov 9mm handgun. Detective Garda Niall Hodgins testified that he obtained a mobile phone from Mr Fox's partner during a search and later attended Mater Hospital when Mr Fox required medical attention after a self-harm attempt in his cell. The trial continues before Mr Justice Tony Hunt, sitting with Judges Patricia Ryan and Michael Walsh.
