Youngest of three brothers on trial for murder is acquitted by direction
Summary
The 18‑year‑old Ryan Bradley, youngest of three brothers, was acquitted by direction of the judge after a six‑week trial for his alleged involvement in the murder of Neil Reilly. The judge instructed the jury to enter a verdict of "not guilty by direction of the trial judge" for Bradley. The trial also continued for the other accused: Paul Bradley (54), Jason Bradley (20) and Dean Bradley (24). Jason was found to have inflicted fatal wounds on Reilly and may be convicted of murder or manslaughter depending on provocation. Dean was accused of running over Reilly in a BMW, with the jury to decide if it was an accident or deliberate. Paul was charged with joint enterprise, with conviction dependent on shared intent to kill or cause serious injury. The jury will consider all verdicts on Tuesday.
