Murder accused "swore on child's life" that he did not shoot Hutch, witness tells trial

Summary

During a Special Criminal Court hearing, Denise King, former partner of Jonathan Keogh, testified that Keogh swore on their baby's life that he did not shoot Gareth Hutch. King said Keogh, who feared for his safety, often stayed at her flat and that she had received a message from him asking to stay the night before Hutch's murder. She described how Keogh later sent an envelope of €2,000 to her, which she counted. King also recounted that Keogh had threatened to kill Hutch the evening before the shooting and that he and others were involved in planning the murder. The prosecution argued the killing was pre‑meditated and that Keogh, Thomas Fox and Regina Keogh each had a role. The trial was set to continue before Mr Justice Tony Hunt and two other judges. Gareth Hutch pleaded not guilty. Thomas Fox pleaded not guilty. Regina Keogh pleaded not guilty.
