Evidence that alleged murder victim was run over, trial hears

Summary

During a murder trial, Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis presented evidence that the victim, Neil Reilly, suffered more than 40 injuries. He described chop wounds to Reilly's head causing brain lacerations, multiple fractured ribs, extensive pelvic fractures, and scrapes consistent with being dragged across a rough surface. Curtis argued that the crushed pelvis and chest injuries could indicate that Reilly was run over, though the chest wounds might also result from resuscitation attempts.
