Court upholds stepfather's abuse conviction
Summary
In 2018 the Court of Appeal upheld a 12‑year sentence for a 55‑year‑old man convicted of sexually abusing his step‑daughter. The man had pleaded not guilty to four counts of rape, ten counts of sexual assault, one count of oral rape and two counts of using an object to penetrate the complainant between 2001 and 2005. The victim was aged 11 to 15 at the time. The Central Criminal Court had imposed concurrent sentences ranging from five to 12 years.
