Polish roofer guilty of violent sex attacks on two women
Summary
A jury at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court found Slawomir Gierlowski, 33, guilty of six counts of sexual assault, assault and false imprisonment against two women in Clondalkin over a four‑year period. The convictions relate to attacks in 2011 and 2015, when Gierlowski dragged the women to the ground, used a leather belt or duct tape, and sexually assaulted them. A third attack on 16 May 2016 involved a hunting knife; the victim was pulled backwards, cut three fingers, and escaped. DNA evidence linked Gierlowski to all three incidents, matching blood, semen and other trace material from the scenes. The jury deliberated over three additional charges from the 2016 attack, which will be considered tomorrow. The case remains at the jury stage for those further charges. The unnamed woman pleaded not guilty.
