Summary

The Central Criminal Court is set to resume the trial of Alan Wilson, 35, who is charged with the murder of 18‑year‑old Marioara Rostas. The jury, consisting of ten men and two women, is expected to return to court on Monday after being excused last week. Wilson pleaded not guilty to the killing that took place at a house on Brabazon Street, The Coombe, between 7 and 8 January 2008. The prosecution has presented evidence that Rostas disappeared from Dublin city centre on 6 January, and her body was later found in a shallow grave on the Wicklow border, having died from four bullet wounds to the head. Testimony from Alexandru Rostas, Marioara's brother, and from Fergus O'Hanlon, who claimed Wilson showed him the corpse and assisted in burying it, has been heard. The trial will continue before Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy next week.
