Woman charged with assisting suicide

Summary

A 42‑year‑old woman, Gail O'Rorke of Tallaght, was charged under Section 2 of the Criminal Law (Suicide) Act 1993 for allegedly assisting the suicide of Bernadette Forde, a 51‑year‑old multiple sclerosis sufferer, between March 10 and June 6, 2011 in Dublin. O'Rorke was arrested at Donnybrook Garda Station and pleaded not guilty. The DPP directed that she face trial on indictment, with the book of evidence already completed.
