Van parked near scene linked to sex attack accused, trial hears
Summary
During the trial of Slawomir Gierlowski, a 33‑year‑old man from Drimnagh, Dublin, the court heard that a white van parked near the scene of a 2016 attack on a woman was linked to him. Residents near the Clondalkin attack site recalled seeing a large white van on 26 April 2016 and again on 15 May 2016, noting registration numbers beginning 07‑D and 08‑D. One resident, Michelle McCabe, described two men who approached her, one muscular, possibly Slavic, and later identified the van as a white VW Crafter with registration 08‑D‑20729, which was registered to Gierlowski. Gierlowski denies all allegations of false imprisonment, sexual assault and assault in the 2011, 2015 and 2016 incidents. The case is proceeding before Judge Pauline Codd and an 11‑man jury.
