Woman told gardai she thought accused was going to rape her

Summary

A 36‑year‑old Dublin man pleaded not guilty to sexual assault of a 35‑year‑old foreign national at UCD campus on 23 July 2014. The woman, who met the man on Tinder, agreed to meet him after weeks of communication. He picked her up and drove her to a green area on campus. She testified that he became aggressive, placed his hand on her neck, touched her legs, shouted at her, and tried to restrain her. She feared for her life, thought he would rape her, and tried to open the doors, which were locked. Gardaí were informed after the alleged attack.
