Roy Collins murder trial in trial within a trial
Summary
In a Special Criminal Court hearing, two Limerick men, Wayne Dundon, 36, and Nathan Killeen, 24, have pleaded not guilty to the murder of businessman Roy Collins, 35, who was killed at Coin Castle Amusements on 9 April 2009. The court heard that Collins was at work when a gunman fired a single shot, killing him. Prosecutors say Dundon directed the murder from prison, Killeen was the getaway driver, and James Dillon was the gunman. The trial, which began 1 May, is a 'voir dire' to determine admissibility of evidence, presided over by Justice Iseult O'Malley.
