Journalist Tom Humphries to be sentenced for defiling child
Summary
Tom Humphries, a 54‑year‑old former Irish Times sports journalist, is set to be sentenced in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for sexual exploitation and defilement of a child. He pleaded guilty in March to six offences against a girl under 17, including two counts of defilement between December 2010 and February 2011 and four counts of inviting a child to participate in a sexually explicit, obscene or indecent act between January 2010 and March 2011.
