Two Dublin men, Jordan Carthy, 22, and Shane Walsh, 18, were sentenced to three and a half years in prison for assault causing harm and robbery of two necklaces worth €22,000. The incident occurred on 9 September 2016 at Dame Lane, Dublin 2, when the men attacked Richard Bergin, took his bag, and stole the necklaces. CCTV footage showed the men kicking and stamping on Bergin, with Carthy taunting him. Bergin suffered a broken nose and head bruising. Both men pleaded guilty.
