Fiancee of Roy Collins felt "numb" on day of shooting, court hears
Summary
In the Special Criminal Court, Melissa Crawford, the fiancée of the murdered Limerick businessman Roy Collins, gave evidence about the day of his shooting. She recalled driving to the Coin Castle Amusement Arcade on 9 April 2009 when she received a call that Collins had been shot. She went straight to the hospital, arriving around 12:30 p.m., but could not see him as doctors were working. Crawford said she felt "numb" and had her head between her legs, believing Collins was still alive until the doctor informed her of his death sometime between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. She did not see Collins at the hospital that day. The court also heard from April Collins about her son's illness and her own call from a mobile phone while at the hospital. The trial continues with a voir dire on the admissibility of evidence regarding the arrest and detention of Nathan Killeen and Wayne Dundon. Nathan Killeen pleaded not guilty. Wayne Dundon pleaded not guilty.

The trial, which has now moved in to a voir dire on evidence of the detention of Mr Killeen at Roxboro Road Garda station, continues in front of presiding judge Ms Justice Iseult O'Malley.
