Summary
Colin Goode, 49, a former school caretaker, was found with more than €230,000 of drugs in his garden shed and wheelie bin. He initially told Gardaí he had discovered bags of cocaine, MDMA and zopiclone tablets in his back garden and had placed them in the bin and shed with the intention of discarding them. He later admitted he was holding the drugs for another person, but could not recall how he became involved because he was intoxicated. Gardaí discovered over 103,000 zopiclone tablets, worth €207,928, in Goode's shed, along with cocaine worth €19,166 and MDMA powder worth €4,216 in his bin. Goode pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and MDMA, keeping zopiclone for sale without a prescription and without the wholesaler's authorisation. The case was adjourned for sentencing on 27 October.
