The car was registered to a man named Paul McCann at an address on Rathgar Road, Rathmines, but the landlord said no tenant bore that name; the registration letter was addressed to McCann. The vehicle was purchased from a previous owner in Tallaght on 10 October, and the buyer signed the certificate with his left hand while placing his right hand on it.
