Jury sworn-in for trial of father and stepson charged in connection with Limerick murder

Summary

A jury of eight men and four women was sworn in at the Central Criminal Court to hear the trial of Alan McNamara, aged 50, and his stepson Robert Cusack, aged 28. McNamara pleaded not guilty to the murder of Andrew O'Donoghue, aged 51, which occurred in Murroe on 20 June 2015. Cusack pleaded not guilty to an offence of impeding the apprehension or prosecution of McNamara, believing him to have committed murder or another arrestable offence. The trial is set to begin on Wednesday and is expected to last between two and three weeks.
