Summary
Tracey Deegan, 42, pleaded guilty to unlawfully possessing a 12‑gauge Winchester pump‑action shotgun and a 12‑gauge Reno double‑barrel shotgun. She admitted that she had allowed a former partner to store three shotguns and ammunition in her Cherrywood Park home after being threatened at gunpoint. Gardaí discovered the firearms in a wardrobe and found a shotgun shell in the kitchen, which Deegan claimed was her brother's. She also admitted to using cocaine every two weeks. Deegan said the partner threatened her and her brother, who allegedly owed €12,000 in drugs, and that he would collect the guns after dark. She had no prior convictions and cooperated fully when arrested. The case was adjourned to 7 July for the Director of Public Prosecution to decide the seriousness of the offence.
