Summary

Des Christie, 49, of Finglas, was arrested twice for IRA membership while on bail. He was first charged on 29 March 2013 after a search of a commercial premises in Clondalkin, and was due to stand trial on 13 January 2015. Christie was granted bail in April 2013, but was arrested again in July 2013 following a search of a house in Tallaght. He was charged again for membership of the Irish Republican Army, and the court set a trial date for 9 June 2015. On 28 May 2015, the Special Criminal Court granted him temporary bail. He must leave at 9 am, return on 4 June, observe a curfew from midnight to 7 am, provide a mobile number, surrender his passport, and may not associate with co‑accused or anyone convicted or charged with a scheduled offence. The judge, Ms Justice Iseult O'Malley, approved the application.
