ODCE seeks access to transcripts of Sean FitzPatrick trial

Summary

Lawyers for the Director of Public Prosecutions requested that the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement (ODCE) be given access to the transcripts of the Sean FitzPatrick trial. The trial, which lasted 127 days, ended with Judge John Aylmer directing an acquittal on all charges after heavily criticising the ODCE investigation. Judge Aylmer said the court had no objection to the ODCE receiving the documents, noting they were a public record. The ODCE announced it would prioritise a report on the trial's collapse and seek the transcripts to aid that work. Sean FitzPatrick pleaded not guilty.
