Father-of-five gets 10-year sentence for raping pregnant partner
Summary
A 53‑year‑old man, whose name is withheld to protect the victim, was convicted of two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault against his then heavily pregnant partner. The Central Criminal Court found that the woman gave birth to their second child three days after the first rape. The man had pleaded not guilty to the rape charges, but the jury convicted him after a three‑week trial.
