Seized CCTV system was missing from home of accused, jury hears

Summary

During a Limerick murder trial, an expert witness testified that a CCTV system seized from a house in the city was the same system that had been missing from the home of the accused men shortly after the killing. The electronic engineer gave evidence to the Central Criminal Court in the case of three men charged with the death of a 43‑year‑old man. Seán Flanagan (28) and Paul Colbert (46) of Lenihan Avenue, Prospect, Limerick City, are charged with the murder of Gerard McMahon on 18 January 2012. They have pleaded not guilty to murdering him outside his cousin's house, also on Lenihan Avenue. Ian Flanagan (24) of the same address has pleaded not guilty to two counts of assisting an offender on the same date. He is accused of removing a CCTV recording device from their house, knowing it might form evidence in a prosecution.
