April Collins, who grew up on Hyde Avenue in Ballinacurra Weston, gave evidence that she had been in a relationship with Gerard Dundon, Wayne's brother, and had three children with him. Her brother Gareth Collins testified that he was offered €20,000 to participate in the murder of publican Steve Collins, Roy's father. April Collins also recounted that on the day of the shooting her son was ill and she had taken him to the regional hospital in Dooradoyle, where she received a phone call.
