Noone sentenced to 13 years for his part in brutal slaying of teen in State care

Summary

Trevor Noone, aged 29 and resident of Blanchardstown, was sentenced to 13 years' imprisonment for his role in the brutal manslaughter of teenager Daniel McAnaspie, who was stabbed to death on 26 February 2010 at Tolka Valley Park. Noone pleaded guilty in February. Daniel's body was found in a drainage ditch in County Meath almost three months after the murder. Noone and Richard Dekker lured Daniel to a secluded area of the park under the pretense of confronting "some lads from Corduff"; instead, Daniel was stabbed multiple times with garden shears. Justice Patrick McCarthy described the offence as "quite a horrific nature" and noted that Daniel, an orphan in HSE care, had done nothing to deserve the violence.
