Man fails in appeal against conviction for robbing 83-year-old woman
Summary
Trevor O'Shea, 36, was convicted of robbing 83‑year‑old Bridget Campbell outside the Pro‑Cathedral on 30 March 2010. The robbery left Campbell with a broken leg, fractured cheekbone, a laceration above her left eye and a hip pin. O'Shea received a five‑year sentence in March 2012, with one year suspended, after a five‑day trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. He appealed the conviction, but on 12 May 2014 Mr Justice Liam McKechnie dismissed the appeal, stating the court would later give written reasons for the decision.
