Body of missing man found in murky drain, trial hears
Summary
The trial of Latvian man Andresj Krauze, aged 31, at the Central Criminal Court heard evidence that he was accused of murdering Juris Buls, also from Latvia, on 7 or 8 July 2011 in Galway. Gardaí searching for a missing 30‑year‑old man found his body in a murky drain in Funshin Wood a few weeks after he failed to turn up for work on 7 July. The accused's brother, Sergejs Krauze, accompanied the search. Sergeant Shane Birmingham testified that he discovered the body by noticing a boot heel in the drain and that the remains were likely in that area. Sergeant Michael Kelly reported finding a full lunch in a lunchbox at Buls's home and other domestic details. The case remains before Justice Margaret Heneghan. Andresj Krauze pleaded not guilty.
