Priest convicted of orally raping child 10 years ago
Summary
A 63‑year‑old former priest was convicted by a Central Criminal Court jury of six counts of oral rape, defilement and sexual assault committed in his home between 2005 and 2006. The victim, aged between ten and eleven at the time, was a boy from the priest's parish. The priest had previously denied the charges. The trial showed that the priest befriended the boy, gradually invaded his personal space and made sexual comments. He encouraged the child to look up "gay porn" on the family computer, a search that was later discovered by the boy's father. The priest told the boy that sexual acts were natural and that everything they did was private. He asked the boy to touch him sexually and to perform oral sex on him, and at one point instructed the boy to suck his penis.
