Summary

A 29‑year‑old man, Thomas Fox, will be tried at the Special Criminal Court for the murder of Gareth Hutch, 35, nephew of Gerry "the Monk" Hutch. Hutch was shot dead on the morning of 24 May outside Avondale House flats on North Cumberland Street, Dublin. Fox was charged in January at Cloverhill District Court. At a brief hearing, State solicitor Michael O'Donovan presented an application for Fox to be charged and tried before the Special Criminal Court. Judge Tony Hunt, with Judges John O'Hagan and Anne Ryan, gave the order.
