Dylan Brophy, 19, was arrested two hours after a robbery on Reuben Street on 12 March 2015, where he used a metal brush handle to strike two students, Bronte Kavanagh and Ryan Donnelly, and stole a bag and a phone. Garda Brendan Lynn said the victims were warned to run, then dragged to the ground, hit, and robbed of a bag containing an iPhone and €40. The victims suffered concussions and bruises. Brophy denied threats and said he knew police were searching for him, so he turned himself in. A psychological report recommended probation assessment before sentencing, which is adjourned to 16 January.
