Cafe owner grew cannabis to ease back pain

Summary

Marcin Malinski, a 35‑year‑old cafe owner, was stopped at a Garda checkpoint when officers detected a strong smell of cannabis from his BMW. A bag of cannabis plant cut‑offs was found in the car, and Malinski and his passenger were taken in for questioning. A subsequent search of his home revealed a grow house containing 17 cannabis plants at various stages of maturity.
