"High risk" attempted murderer gets suspended sentence for knife chase

Summary

Michael Brennan, 29, was given a three‑year suspended sentence in the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court after pleading guilty to possession of a knife at Cromcastle Drive, Kilmore, on 7 January 2016. The court heard that he had chased a group of people to a parked car, appeared to try to open the door or stab the car, and was ordered by Gardaí to drop the knives. The incident stemmed from a family dispute and occurred while Brennan was relapsing into drug addiction.
