Jury sworn in for trial of former Anglo chairman

Summary

The trial of former Anglo Irish Bank chairman Sean FitzPatrick began at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 21 September 2016. A specially enlarged jury of 15 was sworn in, with the case expected to last up to three months. FitzPatrick, aged 68, denies misleading the bank's auditors Ernst and Young about loans totalling up to €119 million received between November 2002 and February 2008.
