71-year-old jailed in 'house of horrors' abuse case

A 71-year-old man from Castleblayney, County Monaghan, has been sentenced to eight years imprisonment at the Central Criminal Court following his conviction for sexually abusing his three younger siblings over a period spanning the 1970s and 1980s. The defendant pleaded guilty to fifteen counts of indecent assault, with five counts relating to each victim. The abuse occurred at the family home in Castleblayney and involved a pattern of assault that began when the defendant was in his late teens and continued for several years.
